Laboratory codes are used to link data with meta data such as QUASIMEME results. The information associated with laboratory codes should be kept current and marked “Discontinued” if the laboratory no longer exists. If the name changes but the location does not, the code should not be changed. If the location changes, a new lab code is usually assigned.
